Join us for the launch party of the much anticipated "Jamaican Fruit of African Roots" by Sheila Rickards, the first release on Shella Records. The limited edition vinyl 10" is the culmination of label founder Chris Flanagan's 10 year search for the mysterious vocalist after discovering her music in a musty thrift store in rural Canada.
This lost vocal track to one of King Tubby's most devastating and dramatic dubs was previously know to only a handful of collectors and sound-men. Lovingly mastered and reissued on 100% virgin vinyl the package includes 2 additional vintage Dub instrumentals, an acapella and full liner notes.
"Jamaican Fruit of African Roots" has already been getting love from legendary DJ Gilles Peterson on his BBC radio program.
Have a drink, enjoy a sneak preview of the upcoming documentary following the search for Sheila Rickards, and hear the toughest in vintage Reggae tunes from top selectors.

This April, Wham City is taking their cross-over comedy on a two-week tour across the Northeast and Midwest United States.
The Wham City Comedy Tour is a two-hour cross-genre variety show, showcasing the very best from Baltimore's award-winning artist collective and fabled party starters. Expect stand-up sets, videos, dramatic monologues, and ensemble sketches in a tightly-run, visionary performance.
When Ben O'Brien and Dan Deacon organized the original Wham City Comedy Tour 3 short years ago, the group was already heralded for their music and art, but virtually unknown in comedy. Since that time, the tour has performed on stage with Chicago's Second City, shared festival bills with Donald Glover, Neil Brennan, and Henry Rollins; O'Brien has opened for Parks and Recreation's Nick Offerman; and Mason Ross won Best Comedic Performance in the City Paper's Best of Baltimore issue.
